UDUKURI is a part of our Flat Table series. Subtle shades of color on the smooth surface of the table is created by pouring coloured-epoxy onto the uneven surface treated with a woodworking process called udukuri. It is a traditional Japanese craft technique to create an uneven wood surface by removing the softer parts with a hard-haired brush to reveal the grains. The thickness of the solidified epoxy resin on the surface changes, following  the undulations of the wood; each grain is highlighted by different color shades of the resin.

UDUKIRI was launched by Established and Sons in 2012.
