WORLD BASICS Pop-up Store @merci

This is the first overseas exhibition of the fashion brand World Basics, whose brand concept is “Renewable Basics”, opened at Merci in Paris.
We design three traveling wooden box kits for brand promotion. Two boxes out of three contain wooden shelves embedded in the sponge. After the wooden shelves are taken out from boxes, you get the shelf-shaped hollow space in the sponge. By inserting thin wood boards into slits the boxes will transform into a display shelf or a hanging rack. In this way volume allocated for clothing display will increase by 150%. The remaining box is allocated for a fitting room. By adopting an inflatable balloon-like envelope, the interior volume can be doubly expanded to allow enough space for a person to enter and dress/undress.
Contents of these wooden box kits are updated sometimes according to requirements from specific sites, but the same boxes will keep traveling around the world. We expect that these wooden boxes will accumulate layers of airport stickers and various scratches on the surface, and age nicely as time goes by.
